Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris: A typical foliar lesion of cabbage black rot. Infection is via a hydathode and into a vein. it travels down the vein into the stem. Concurrently, toxins released into the vein cause a "V" shaped chlorotic region.

Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris: A typical foliar lesion of cabbage black rot. Infection is via a hydathode and into a vein. it travels down the vein into the stem. Toxins released in the infected area move into surrounding tissue causing a characteristic V-shaped chlorotic area.

Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris: Systemic infection by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (blackrot) in cabbage. The chlorosis is as a result of the toxins produced by the bacterium.
